Dr. Shumway is wonderful. I had two doctors that told me that I had Charcot FOOT and I had been in a boot for 10 years. When I saw Dr. Shumway and he examined my foot he told me that I did not have Charcot FOOT that it was arthritis. This is given me great hope and a brighter future.

  The Doctor and the assistant Lisa were awesome, very informative and pleasant to talk to.

I would recommend them to anyone in the future.

  I can't say enough good things about Foot & Ankle Institute of Utah. I called them on a Friday morning with severe pain in my left foot. They were able to see me the same day (during their lunch break no less). Dr. Shumway quickly diagnosed the issue (gout) and gave me a cortizone shot. Within 1 hour I was feeling 100% better. Everyone I met at Foot & Ankle Institute of Utah was great - super friendly.

  Could not be happier with the care and follow up. Dr. Shumway did a great job answering all my questions, even ones I didn't know I had! The best part was working with the entire staff. From the front desk to billing everyone has been helpful, and honest.

  Dr. Clark is a very knowledgeable podiatrist. He has done great things for more than one person in our family. My only concern is that he talks quickly and quietly and I have to ask quite a few questions to make sure I understood him correctly. Overall, I think he is kind and knowledgeable and pretty funny. He is an excellent surgeon as well and my daughter healed very well after her 2 bunion surgeries.

  Dr. Shumway, has been fantastic to work with. I first went in to see him because of extreme pain in my foot. He took the time to explain what was happening and the best course of treatment. It has taken a few months to get to where I am now but I’m glad to say that I am completely pain-free. He has been patient throughout the entire process taking time to answer my questions and address any concerns that I’ve had. The office staff have been great to work with as well. Overall it’s been a very positive experience.

  110% happy that I went here! 110% recommend! I read through a LOT of reviews for many different offices and ended up choosing this one. It's been a little over a week since I went in, and I have almost no foot pain now! Granted, that won't be the case for everyone, but for me it's been amazing! I barely limp at work, after work or the next day! The office itself is a little awkward because of the small waiting room, but the staff were all friendly and I didn't have to wait very long. I think my total wait time (in the waiting room and in the room combined) was 15-20 mins. I know that sounds like a lot, but considering they seemed busy and that at my normal doctor, I always wait 30+ mins to be seen, 15-20 mins was a breeze! I saw Dr. Shumway, who was very polite, easy to talk to, and he listened to everything I had to say. He didn't cut me off or get irritated when I rambled. He asked questions that were relative to my problems and gave me a diagnosis very quickly. Not quickly in a bad way - quickly as in he took in all the information we discussed, did a good look at my foot and didn't throw 10 different possibilities out there without getting all the info (the way it seems most doctors do these days). I bought the brace I needed, and they were very up front about the realistic cost of the custom insoles they recommend I get. The brace they recommended for me is available on Amazon for cheaper than the price they're charging ($70 vs $150), BUT if your insurance offers a co-pay what you need, it's likely much cheaper than an online or in store price (in my case it was $35). I wish I had made this appt sooner, years sooner! It would have saved me a lot of pain and discomfort.

  On my first visit, doctor Shumwell and his staff were amazing. So thorough and knowledgeable; and an awesome bedside manner. I only went 5 stars because the site doesn’t go to 10.

  Dr Shumway is a rare individual. He is an excellent surgeon and also a compassionate and caring individual. He operated on my grandson and provides foot care for other members of our family, including myself.

  Wow! What a difference between Dr. Clark and the last foot doctor I saw. He was very thorough and explained the reasons for my foot pain. He gave me suggestions for shoes that help relieve some of my pain and explained things I could do each day to help with my issues.

  I am beyond happy with Dr. Francis Clark and all the stuff at his office. They go out of their way to help and accommodate you. They listen to your concerns and help alleviate them. They are always friendly and professional. When you are in pain they do everything in their power to get you in to be seen as soon as possible. Dr. Clark is very knowledgeable and skilled at what he does and when he needs a second opinion he doesn’t hesitate to call in his colleague so every possible choice and decision are evaluated. I’m so thankful for all they do.

  Dr. Shumway is amazing. His knowledge and advanced ability to communicate this information about what the patient is dealing with is above that of most doctors today. He is caring, supportive, and most importantly an excellent doctor. You would win by being a patient if his. He nurse Leslie is amazing too.   I love doctor Clark's advice and gentle care. His staff and nurse are the best. My issues were taken care of. He is genuine in making sure all questions are answered and has a twinkle in his eye with a side of humor.

  Dr. Clark has been working very closely with me for a couple of months now on a complex issue of an extra bone in my right foot. I have always lived very active life full of exercising walking my dogs 3 or 4 miles a day etc etc. This has been very hard on me as for me to shut down on my normal lifestyle it's just not something I want to do. Dr. Clark continuous to a chain my former lifestyle as closely as possible, even if it means telling me things I don't want to hear and making sure I am following his advice. He is great and I would recommend him to anyone.

  I think Dr. Clark is an excellent doctor who takes the time to explain and answer any questions. He is courteous and professional but makes you feel very comfortable as well. I would recommend him to my family and friends and anyone who is looking for a good doctor.

  Just go and he wool give you the best advice . He has been in Patrice with a great deal of experience that he will give you options other than surgery. Where a lot of these new doctors I feel are trying to be surgery only.( this my opinion.)

  Awesome service! Dr. Shumway gave me an injection for my plantar I followed his instructions with wearing the boot at night and to do the exercises .No pain!!

  Dr. Shumway and his staff are the best! I highly recommend them! I personally have a lot of health problems and see multiple specialists, and I have to say that Dr. Shumway is by far my favorite specialist. His staff is always so kind and accommodating, and Dr. Shumway does a great job at putting me at ease when I’ve had stressful foot and ankle situation‘s. I just got ankle surgery and he did a great job and even gave me his cell phone number after the surgery in case I had anything come up during off hours. Even though their office is usually busy, and sometimes you have to wait longer than you would like, it is worth the wait to be taken care of by such a great staff.

  Dr. Francis Clark has been the best foot specialist I've seen! Super friendly and was willing to listen to my concerns after having a Plantar Fasciitis diagnostic for over 6 years. He was able to tell me briefly about my back problems as well and suggest me to see a neurologist and pain specialist. He also give me a few suggestions I haven't tried yet for my feet so I'm hopeful with getting the help I've finally been looking for.

  I have struggled with ingrown toenails for years since I came home from my mission. I was traumatized from my procedures over there but visiting Dr. Clark was a much better experience. He numbed my toes in a different, less painful way and the procedure to remove my ingrown toenails was quick. He explained everything in a very understandable way and made sure I was set up for success for the healing process at home. Dr. Clark is very nice and very professional. He is also a returned missionary, a fellow runner, and has had this procedure so he knows where I’m coming from on multiple fronts. I was very impressed with his care. I highly recommend him!

  Dr Clark was the absolute best. Took my teen here after already having their ingrown toenail worked on by another doctor. My kid was scared to death because the first experience was awful.

Dr Clark and his staff took such good care of them and helped them be as calm as possible and several months later it’s still doing well.

  I had gone to another podiatrist and they pretty much told me I just needed my bone spur to be shaved but when Dr. Clark did X-rays he noticed that my foot had actually been fractured earlier in life and the pain i was feeling was real and that it was going to be more than just shaving a bone spur. He explained things in a way where I could understand and I went ahead and scheduled surgery with him instead of the other podiatrist. I would recommend Dr. Clark hands down!! I was very impressed with his office staff as well, they are friendly and are one of the only offices that explains secure communications. I will be going back to this office in the future for any foot and ankle needs.

  Dr. Shumway is wonderful! He has a great bedside manner and I never feel rushed with him. After my surgery, he called me personally to check in on me. He also made the effort to drive to the office on his day off to personally change my cast when I got it wet. When I call with a question, the secretary, nurse or Dr. Shumway himself take the time to answer all of my questions. There is rarely a wait in the office as well. I am incredibly pleased with the Foot and Ankle Institute!
